As a borderline diabetic I have not yet had any specific talks about foods with a diabetic nurse or dietician so I am not really sure which foods are sure to raise the glucose level.
I do have a low fat diet because of raised cholesterol and I have read a lot about food and diabetics I eat mostly chicken and fish love cheese so have lower fat ones as I do with yogurts plenty of veg of all kinds, salad and fruit.. although I know grapes are not to good so only eat a few when I have them.... I mostly eat wholemeal bread but I am not a big bread eater I am not keen on rice or pasta so rarely have that . I have heard on here that root vegetables are not good but any that grow above ground are but did wonder about beans like kidney beans, butter beans, canelloni beans, chick peas and black eye peas etc as I do really like these and always thought they were good for you and eat them quite a lot with my meals. Not really heard them mentioned on the food questions here. I am not overweight never have been so that's not a problem. Any advice would be good please
