I'm not sure if I agree with my diabetic nurse she wants my levels before I go to sleep to be 8 or above however I really want to keep my levels low I know the logic is risk of hypo whilst asleep but I haven't as of yet ever had a hypo at night. What's other people's targets for night time levels?

I'm always very worried about night hypos, had a few and it's my big fear. Ok so in 31 years I've had less than 10 but its remains a fear. I therefore won't go to bed less than 8, pref between 8 and 12 is my happiest range.

No lower than 5.5mmol but below 7mmol. My bg can drop 0.5 - 1mmol overnight and reducing my basal only makes my morning bg higher than I like it to be.

I wish I knew my BG would only decrease by 0.5-1mmol/L over night. I like to be above 8 but no higher than 11 or 12. My BG levels are so inconsistent over night it depends on what type of food I eat, whether I exercise and what time I exercise, it's ridiculous! The last 3 mornings I've had BG of 9.4, 3.7, 13.3. Drives me mad. However I do have the high morning BGs if I've over snacked before bed so I think it's a case of finding out what works best for you.
