Bedtime snack

Hi all!

I've been blindly following my DSN instruction that I MUST eat before bed every night, regardless of my BG.

My issue with this is prior to diagnosis I wouldn't have dreamt of eating after dinner, and so now I am I'm steadily gaining weight.

Does any one have advice for what I should be eating that will slow release through the night but not be particularly calorific? I'm not a fan of bread so a piece of toast is slowly destroying my soul with every bite haha

Hi, I've never been given that advice. I only eat three meals a day and don't snack at all. I test my BG levels before bed and if they are on the low side I have a few biscuits to bring them up.

I'm in the honeymoon period so some nights I can have big drops even though I'm only taking 3u levemir. Other nights I only go down 1 mmol/l. So they currently insist I eat to stop me going hypo when I sleep. I am noticeably more receptive to insulin in the evening/overnight compared to during the day
