Does anyone else find their blood sugar levels lower when drinking a pint or 1/2 pint of beer (bitter / ale or Guinness) with food?
I test my BS one hour after eating, and they are consistently around 1mmol/L lower than when I do not have a beer. 2 beers and I am a couple of mmol/L higher, glass or 2 or 3 or 4 of red wine makes very little difference.
Scandinavian LcHf diet says. "Beer: Liquid bread. Full of rapidly absorbed carbs".... I am not complaining, just wondering why.
