Does anyone else find their blood sugar levels lower when drinking a pint or 1/2 pint of beer (bitter / ale or Guinness) with food?

I test my BS one hour after eating, and they are consistently around 1mmol/L lower than when I do not have a beer. 2 beers and I am a couple of mmol/L higher, glass or 2 or 3 or 4 of red wine makes very little difference.

Scandinavian LcHf diet says. "Beer: Liquid bread. Full of rapidly absorbed carbs".... I am not complaining, just wondering why.

Diagnosed T2 in sept 2013, BS levels 20+. BMI 22, age 58. Went on low carb diet. Requested a GAD test in November, came back very high 2,000+, doc says I will be T1 soon, but presently LADA, and managing to keep 99% of my BS readings one hour after meals under 7.8 without insulin or any medication through LCHF diet.

Maybe the beer you like is low in starch. Wort can contain both sugars which yeast can ferment and starches which it can't touch. It dosn't help that alcoholic beverages don't tend to carry nutritional information.
Wines are typically fermented from fruit juices which only contains sugars. Though might best check with banana wine.
N.B. Barley "wine" is actually an ale and rice "wine" is more akin to a beer too.
