For the past 2 nights i've swapped my evening meal for about 5 pints of lager, (normally I'd only have a couple on a week night). I find the results very interesting, as the sugar in the beer increases my BG readings the alcohol cancels that out over night. I actually woke up low this morning which meant I could enjoy jam on my toast for breakfast which was a nice bonus!
I wont be able to go everyday without an evening meal but its a good alternative if you dont want any bolus insulin, especially those of you that inject.
I just wondered if anybody else had found the same?
I'm Type 1 by the way 20 yrs in, 8 on a pump.

or vodka :] <3The bigger issue is how high your BG goes while you are drinking. You'll find that a couple of pints spikes you into the 10-15 range, and higher if you have five....
So while you might not need bolus overnight, you are doing your self no favours on the spiking! Stick to wine....
