Best of luck with your quest! I do not anticipate a cure, but would not mind at all to be proved wrong. I think you are the type of person needed to push forward with researching a cure. It has been claimed (and I have no idea of the truth or falsity of this) that drugs companies have no interest at all in a cure, as they make soooo much money from supplying diabetics with medication.
The more medical professionals with diabetes, the more the focus will be on results and not profit. So I say again, all the very best for you and your career.
 
Voted. Every diabetic who joins the medical professions (in any capacity) is a bonus for all of us. Just look at Dr Richard Bernstein. Go girl! :-)
