Benefits of gluten free diet for t1 toddler

I'm interested to hear from others who have knowledge or experience of gluten free diet with t1 toddlers/children. My son was, until diagnosis, largely fed on gluten free foods, as I am gluten intolerant. Since diagnosis, his diet has included lots of wholewheat foods, thanks to the advice of dieticians. But I'm not convinced it is doing him much good. He seems to constantly have upset bowel movements and I'm wondering if perhaps a gf diet would be a better idea in general?
Thanks x

I believe celiacs is common in diabetics - you could ask consultant for a blood test, or you can buy them yourself now. (Advertising links removed from post - Forum Policy)
