Many new recruits to this forum ask about eating fruits. The general advice is to avoid most fruits, or at least to eat small portions, and berries are the best choice in moderation. This is good advice as long as they understand that what are meant are fruits with berries in their name. Consulting a botanical textbook, because for example English is not their first language, will result in exactly the wrong choices. Raspberries, strawberries and blackberries are not berries but aggregate fruits. Oranges, grapes and bananas, on the other hand, are berries. I suggest to either recommend specific fruits, or use the expression "with berries in their name” or perhaps just referring them to the excellent DietDoctor charts. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/fruits

That's the difference between English and science. Few people understand/bother with science, so the trick is always check how you respond to a food item. For me a small amount of berries is fine, a banana is a no no.
