Hello, I need to get more serious about carb counting (previously I've just gone for low carbs or sugar-free items).

I downloaded Glooko but the default list of foods is made up of US brands. For instance, 30g of their bran flakes contains 28g of carbs yet the Asda equivalent has only 19g.

Is there an NHS app that lists British grocery firms' food please? It would make things a darn sight easier.

It’s not an NHS app but Nutra Check Calorie Counter is the one I use. It shows a portion of bran flakes as 19g carbs.
American apps will be confusing as they include fibre which isn’t absorbed of course. British nutritional info subtracts the fibre.

my DSN recremended Carbs & Cals she said NOT to pay the subscription there is plently free.

the reaasn for the difference, is that uk do net carbs, where as the us also include fibre count. If you subtract the fibre amount it should be around the same

Thanks -- that looks far better. I like the way it looks to have worked for you. Most encouraging!

I used to use Cronometer when I needed to measure. The tip was to preface any item with Tesco eg Tesco bran flakes and it would bring up UK measurements . There's been several upgrades since I last used it so hope it still works

I use the Carbs & Cals app (currently trying the paid version), which comes in handy when eating out. The good thing about about any food is you can enter the exact weight (this feature is turned off in the free version) of any portion of food.

Sorry, I might have used Carb Manager. It was a few years ago

Thanks all. I'm trying @Rachox's suggestion. Though I don't reckon I could ever get down to her 40g of carbs a day (that's a banana and a half).
