Best recording app for pumpers

Hi all you pumpers,

I have been using a pump for almost six months and an app to record blood sugars, exercise and medication for a little less than that. My record keeping is much better than it was (as is my control) but I am not too happy with the app. I am using DiaConnect. At first I was very please with it. But as I have been exercising and getting fitter, I keep needing to reduce my basal. Unfortunately the app doesn't keep a record of past basal rates. It can be done manually but it's pretty awkward. Also, although it has some nice graphs, it doesn't have a graph for basal rates that shows how they relate to other stuff. Without both basal history and basal graphs, I don't really feel I am giving my endo the information he needs. I can see that our appointment is going to be all,"Yes buts".

Pump users - your best app? I don't mind paying for it, but I don't want to pay then find it doesn't have the features I need.

I also use a Medtronic Minimed but it is probably an older model than yours. It's the Paradigm 715. Thing is, I live in Turkey and we get all the old stuff! I will probably have to wait another three or four years before the latest CGMs come to town! I went to the Turkish website for the software but it doesn't seem to be downloadable. Anyway, I will get my endo to pressure the Medtronic rep for the software, if that helps. But I would like to see the info myself beforehand.

I have no representation of how I have changed my basal rates over the last couple of months - as far as I know. Maybe it's embedded in my pump's memory but I can't see it. As far as I can see it only keeps the bolus history for 7 days.

I tend to use a pump bg monitoring book which has columns and rows for bg, carb, bolus, correction, basal, temp basal, set change. If I make a change to basal, i write the new one down and circle it so that I know that I have changed. This helps to keep my control of bg ok

I have never in fifty years of T1 ever managed to keep up handwritten records for more than a day or two! That's why I asked about apps. I am just too disorganized for written records. Or lazy.

If you can get a hold of the carelink wireless usb dongle you should be able to transfer your data to the website......

If your clinic cant get a hold of the dongle, you could contact Medtronic online and try and get one sent out.......
