do beta cells get completely burnt out in type2?
In 2006, fasting insulin was 13.11units fbs 77mg/dl.
In 2013 , fasting insulin was 17units with fbs 86mg/dl.
2019 my hba1c was 5.9%. I did dietary modification and lost weight. Up until 2019, I had normal hba1c -5.1% to5.5%
In 2019 Oct month, fbs 92mg/dl, fasting insulin 6.57units.
In2019 Nov month, fbs 82mg/dl and fasting insulin 5.29units
Now in Jan 2023 fbs was 86mg/dl and fasting insulin is 6units.
C peptide in Jan 2023 was 2ng/ml.
Feb 2023 hba1c was5.5% ( did time restricted eating, about 80g carbs per day)
How much time have I got for complete beta cell burn out?

I’m with @bulkbiker on this.

If our bodies are healthy, our body produces the correct amount of insulin to aid digestion of our food that we eat. the actual levels of insulin are governed by many things, including what we eat. More carb require more insulin to metabolise.

Unless your blood sugars are increasing, I would be inclined not to be concerned.
