Congratualtions Lindsay Jane - youve done an amazing job and its great too that you are having a proper full lipid panel done. I had a huge cholesterol score after going LHCF and after 4 and a half stone rapid weight loss which was scary but from advice and support on here I got a full lipid panel and again with help from @bulkbiker got help with making sense of the results so I could see the full breakdown and ratios so thatI could make informed decisons. Mine is still high but ratios are excellent so Im staying off the statins and hoping that eventually my surgery will back off on the statins!!I was very nervous but needn't have been. Apparently my results are astonishing (how did I do it, she asked. LCHF, I told her). I did ask for a full cholesterol and lipid test, which I'm having next week just to be on the safe side but she said I can stop taking metformin! She also asked if I would be prepared to come to the surgery and give support talks to other diabetic patients (that's the scariest bit!).
They gave me my cholesterol report but with no breakdown. I asked for a breakdown today but the surgery didn't have it either! I fail to see how it could be of any use without knowing the ratios! Good luck with your results xxxThat’s great!
I have just asked for a full set of tests too, to compliment the HbA1c test I had a month ago. They didn’t get me to take them at the time.
Thanks. I get my data online now. They updated my weight and blood pressure measurements the other week and it was online in a trice. They gave me my cholesterol report but with no breakdown. Thank you for your comments and I shall fast - I made sure the appointment was mid morning to make it easier! There was no breakdown on my cholesterol results at all so the overall number, although on the high side was useless. I am resisting statins!Congratualtions Lindsay Jane - youve done an amazing job and its great too that you are having a proper full lipid panel done. Wonderful DN too not only congratulating you but also recognising that you are an amazing resource for the surgery too to help others. Hope you do feel you could with the right support from them. all the best post your scores when you get them and also fast for 12 - 14 hours and by fasting that means water only avoid even black coffee and tea it makes a big difference.
Thats so useful isn't it? I'm so pleased to be able to see my results on line, makes it easier to keep track on progress.Thanks. I get my data online now. They updated my weight and blood pressure measurements the other week and it was online in a trice.
