Hey guys
Hope you're all well
I have been really trying recently to get my BG readings down to a good level. I was wondering though what number I should be aiming for between meals. I think it should be 5mmol/L because thats the 'non-diabetic' level, but i usually experience hypo symptoms about 4.8mmol/L and am scared that if I have it that low that I will risk a hypo. Because of this i usually end up with BG around 8mmol/L which I think is quite high ( though my nurse disagrees! ). (1 unit of novorapid usually brings me down 3 mmol.)
My typical day is at uni either in lectures or walking around a lab (chemistry student!) so i don't do lots of exercise but i am on my feet a lot. I do normally leave Bg a bit higher on work days when i know i'm going to be doing lots of running around, but the rest of the time I would like to get as tight control as possible. Any thoughts? what do you do?
btw i'm type 1 on novorapid and levemir
