Hi,
Please could someone explain the difference in the measurements used to record blood glucose levels.
I was 30 when diagnosed and am looking to achieve between 4 and 7 ....
But some of you lovely people are recording your bg as over 100 .... so I'm guessing these are different measurements, but I'd really like to understand this 'stuff' and although I'm sure the answer to this question is on the site somewhere, I honestly can't find it!
Thank you, everyone, very grateful.

And there is also a 3 month blood measurement called an hba1c, usually used for diagnosis. This is either measured in % (over 6.5% is diabetic) or in mmol/mol (over 48mmol/mol is diabetic).

As for the mmol/L or mg/dL, use a conversion chart or multiply/divide by 18.

Generally, folk in the UK use mmol/L for blood sugars and mmol/mol for the hba1c, though some GPs still use old school % for the hba1c.
