Out of interest I thought I would test my Bayer Contour Meter to see how accurate it was.
I tested myself, then used some of the calibration fluid and then tested myself once on a finger on my left and right hands.
These were done immediately after one another, the last time I calibrated my meter was a month or so ago when I got it. I was fasting at the time with no fast acting insulin or food in my system as well...
Initial Reading: 9.8 (right hand finger)
Calibration
Left Hand Finger: 11.2
Right Hand Finger: 12.5
That gives and error of:
21% before/after calibration
10% between different fingers
Anyone else ever tested anything like this?
