Hi all, last night I had a chinese take away, bit sick of salads, hubby in Spain golfing so I thought why not, silly me, two hours later BG reading was 9.9, so I wont be doing that again, today I have eaten normally, as in bran flakes, wheatmeal bread, fruit and my main meal was new pots, very lean pork steak and load of veg, two hours later my reading was 14.2, what the hell is going on, pretty miffed about it, I can understand last nights reading but not the 14.2 tonight any ideas please feel free to help me

Probably a chinese hangover. I couldn't eat cereal, bread, potatoes or fruit without my BG going crazy, are you normally ok with that food.

I agree with dawn. I def couldn't have the bread or cereals on a normal day.

Chinese sends me up but Indian doesn't.

Bran Flakes, wheatmeal bread, potatoes, Fruit can all make me spike. Have a look at the carbs (and sugar) in bran flakes.

I make my own low carb bread and only eat about two small new potatoes. Other veg can be a problem as well, parsnips, to many peas, etc.

Unfortunately T2 is progressive, I am in my tenth year and it is becoming slowly more difficult to keep my BGs down, no doubt I will be on some more medication soon. Maybe it is time for a bit more Metformin or whatever?

Bread alone would have given me readings close to those.

Er ....low carb bread? Got a recipe?
