I kept a log today of what I was eating and its affect on my BG levels. I must have gone wrong somewhere, I reckon too many carbs. Also I'm a bit under the weather, just a bit.

Anyhow, for the last seven hours, since 6.30 pm last night my sugars were between 9.3 and 7.2 and now my fingers, feet and toes are tingly. Am I right to be connecting the two instances?

I have always been under the impression that it takes persistently high blood sugars to cause noticeable damage. High sugars for one night causing tingly toes seems a bit of a stretch but I suppose that if you bring your sugars down and it gets better we will all learn something.

I don't know is the short answer.

That;s what I thought too, But since my BGs have been high until I started self-testing who knows what damage could have been done. I'm just wondering. I get a bit too concerned sometimes. Plus I've been learning about the damage that high spikes in levels can do even in the short term making me more worried than usual.

thanks for you reply.

It's happened again tongiht... I treated myself to a square of choccy, then saw off a half tube of smarties... Then My BG was up to 11.9 after an initial drop. What was I thinking? ... I can feel the tingling in my feet as I write... grrrrrr
