Hi everyone my bg was 6.8 before tea now I,am just about to test myself once more after I have just had bake beans on toast hopefully my bg will not rise about 10 bg fingers cross newly diagnose only a week ago on mettfarting lol,
 
6.8 before eating is pretty good ! Test again after a couple of hours and let us know your reading. It'll take a little while to settle down ! Good luck with the beans and the metfartin' !

Thank you mo,going to test myself in the next 20 minutes that's when my two hours is up hoping my bg is only about 8 fingers cross
 
Grrrrr after two hours eating bake beans on toast for my tea my bg is 14.8. Grrrrr not good at all need to be under 10 at lease tomorrow. We will see
 
You sound like a two slice man. I can't eat two slices and don't do well on one slice. How about beans and a couple of eggs?
 
I looked at the baked beans in the cupboard the other day and set to my self ..... Nah.....loaded with sugar in the sauce.
 
If beans on toast are one of your favourite teas you could try having one slice of toast with fewer beans and an egg. Like Squire Fulwood I can't have 2 slices or my BS go almost to the moon !
 
I just went to look at the baked beans in the cupboard also before I answered the above post. I have those little plastic pots held in a cardboard sleeve. Guess who has thrown the cardboard sleeve away. Go on guess.

Haha, can imagine loads of people seeing if they got a can of beans. Squire, isn't it frustrating looking for the sleeves/packaging to find the info and then think aaaaaa

In my defence I can claim old age and stupidity. I'll save the beens for the moment.

It's those little plastic pots. You have to slide them out of the sleeve to break a pot away from the others that it is stuck to. It seems I didn't put them back and there is no sleeve there anymore.
 
Yup, beans are one of the many foods that have been messed with by the food manufacturers by adding loads of sugar. You can get low-sugar beans, but beans are still carbs although quite good ones.
 
Bake beans on. Toast yeah you are right two slices of toast but four slices of brown bread with it lol, has by the time tea time comes round the hungry pains are grrrrrr
 
I've almost totally given up on carbs. Can't be asked to count them so the only carb intake for me these days are maybe 2 slices of rye bread a day and the odd handful of nuts.
