Birmingham cost of living

Hello!

I am considering an offer for work in Birmingham. If let's say my expenses in Basildon are 1000pcm, rent, food, etc, how much would be in Birmingham?

It depends on what part of Birmingham you are thinking of going to. Like London different districts have different costs for housing and council tax.

I used to live in Birmingham and the costs are far cheaper in suburbia but the commute to the city centre wasnt pleasant

I would expect less than Basildon but depends where about. I live on the outskirts of Birmingham, my commute into town is about an hour.
