Hi. I am new. I have type 2 controlled by diet. I am not sleeping very much at night. Penny sort of dropped this am so did bg. Just got up 8.4. Added a few things up and realised hm not good.
D well controlled by diet but horrendous December has left me a bit worried and stranded.
Just before Christmas, 2yr old gson took ill. We lost two family members in three weeks. Christmas was so stressful. Added to that a bit indulgent over three days. Hoped all would be good by now but reckon in a pickle. Advice much appreciated.
Insomnia really bad but think I may have an idea. With stress, noticed, but not really, " booming" in my neck blood vessels when trying to sleep. Defo Not consciously fretting, in fact, blank feeling. Getting up as not sleepy. Reading trying again, no joy. Going to loo to avoid being woken later but realised not full bladder but need to go, hence bg test this am
So, I think I have high sugar, high blood pressure and all that stress has pushed my levels. Surgery closed this afternoon, typical, can I handle this myself, with your help or is this combo a bit more serious than that so sos doc tomorrow?

Hi and welcome to the forum. With all the different things combined no wonder you are a bit stressed out and not sleeping. When you get that blank feeling, for myself at least that is when I am at my lowest point. I tend to just handle things myself bit if you are finding it a bit much it would be best to get to the Dr asap.

Thanks for your reply 4ratbags. In the interim I have had some camomile tea to de stress and a salad. My bg was then 5.4 which I know is low. I will follow your advice and get a dr apt as a wildly swinging level ain't good either. Perhaps I need meds now, I know that can happen. Got a chill ap and help sleep ap for tonight. Fingers crossed for more than 2 hours sleep. Regards

Hopefully you get some sleep tonight, Ive had a run of 3 nights with no sleep myself but thats insomnia for you. Please keep us updated how it goes at the Drs. Sweet dreams, hopefully :)
