Not posted in fair while but found this place a great help upon my diagnosis and first few years getting to grips with everything type2. Basically after the initial fear on being confirmed type 2 i went low carb and from a count of 124 got my numbers into the 50s. Then really hit a wall and mentally and diet wise i started cutting corners and all the bad habits crept back in. I feel it was because id lost the fear and felt i could operate as before. The numbers and weight went back up but really knuckled down again and just recieved my latest bloods results.Got into my 42 waist Levis this week and am the lightest ive been since year 2000. So im chuffed but still gna keep on going as i bought a pair of 40 waist Levis which still have the stickers on. The battle i believe is mainly in the mind, certainly for me it is. So even if you fall off the wagon and take few backwards steps you can just start again when you're in right frame of mind.

Well done and will encourage many in a similar position
Cheers to you and the others above.. If those numbers can help show its not a straight line getting to your goal then thats great. Think its a case of not getting over giddy with the good moments but not getting overly despondent when the test result numbers are dissapointing. I still aim to lose 3 or 4 more stone but accept its a long road.

I think that sort of attitude helps a lot. In the modern world so many people seem to want things to happen instantly and without effort - anyone trying to lower blood glucose levels knows that time and troubles are unavoidable parts of the process.

Well done so far and best of luck for the future.

Great news @Craigmartin . You must be well pleased.
Yes its been a little flurry of good things going my way and being honest im not used to it . Life has taught me not to be an overly optimistic type as iv frequently snatched defeat from the jaws of victory but just had my yearly face to face with nurse at Dermatology since my post this morning and my battle with Psoriasis is going well also since been on adaminulab injections. She noticed straight away how much weight id lost and she said my diabetes being stable and weight loss all helps the skin conditions reaction to my jabs. Its been a refreshing change
