Hello, my oldest friend is type 1 diabetic. Her husband died last week. She is blind. She unfortunately now lives alone, quite a distance from me. I still work full-time in London and can’t be on hand to help. She is very independent and can do her own injections, however she no longer has anyone on hand daily to read her insulin measurements for her. I would like to purchase a talking glucose monitor set for her. Please can you provide guidance on which is the best, most accurate, codeless, easiest to use talking monitor on the UK market. I’d greatly appreciate some guidance. Thank you - Laura

If she has cgm some can be linked up to phone or can ask Siri.
As she is visually impaired I'm pretty confident that her diabetic team will have far greater knowledge and she hopefully can get prescribed rather than you paying might be worth asking her to call and you could perhaps be there to offer support or speak on her behalf if need be, however as you've stated she's very independent she will likely want to do that alone.
She can use a web browser plugin to convert txt to speech which will help her work out insulin doses required.

I have an android galaxy phone a32 and can confirm the libre text to speech works.
I often inject in the dark in the middle of the night as not to disturb my wife.
I count the clicks on my novo pen echo which is available on prescription.

My late mother didn't have diabetes, but was partially sighted, later in her life. Having seen the assistance she received from the RNIB, I'd suggest you or your friend contact them. They really did have some great ideas and gizmos that helped my Mother remain very independent.
It is likely your friend will discover over time things her husband used to or or organised for her. It's a very difficult time for her.
