Hi all - I am feeling extremely low and hopeless at the moment. I’m suffering with multiple symptoms, mainly extreme stomach discomfort and bloating which then for some reason causes my sugar levels to shoot up drastically which then makes me feel nauseous and breathless. Does anyone else experience the same thing? I’m not sure if it’s dumping/delayed emptying that kind of thing or what but I feel like giving up on it all, I try so hard and still suffer ☹️

So sorry, I can’t answer you query, but just bumping up your thread in the hope that it will be spotted by a knowledgeable member with T1 , who can advise.
Oh and to give a ‘Hug’ for you feeling like giving up. Don’t, do that, please.

@briony1 yes have this issue. Started January 2021 contacted GP who had me set out on a barrage of tests. All completed in 6 months (great GP) Bloods for ovarian cancer being the first. Not trying to frighten you, but important to rule out apparently. Also for hypo bacteria a bug in the stomach-common and treated with antibiotics. I had fingers crossed for this, unfortunately not to be. Scans on internal organs, then referral to gastrointestinal specialist who had a tube down throat checking for coeliac and other nasties. Then nuclear scanning for gastroperesis a common type 1 condition. This last one was inconclusive but probably about right. Unfortunately the drugs they prescribe to help I am severely allergic to. So the option was a more potent drug that can affect the heart. I decided to take it for a week, and it had a huge effect for the good. All symptoms cleared for about a month. However, I am not prepared to take long term and create even worse problems. So basically I live with it. I find exercise helps shift the bloat. I lookout for foods that make it worse, have fasting days when very bad, and inject lots more to cover long rises. If it deteriorates further then I shall reassess.
None of this I lay out to worry you, but contact your GP who hopefully is as pro active as mine and will set you on the path to a diagnosis.

My husband had the same issues, and higher blood sugar levels, how are your triglycerides and cholesterol; he ended up having pancreatitis.
