Hi guys, Could anyone possibly tell me a bit more about blood glucose levels, ive been feeling ill for far too long to even remember when it started, eventually my doc decided to screen me for diabetes since 6 people in my close family have t1 and t2, my initial bgl came back as 7.0 mmol/l but the doc wasnt concerend as she had assumed I had eaten that morning (i hadnt I had been in bed for 12 hrs sound asleep, now that she realised her mistake she has sent off a second lot to see if this lot of fasting bloods come back high, so im now waiting on the results of this to come back before she will let me try the fasting lucozade test :( Ive began testing myself at home and the readings are as follows,, I really hope someone can help me make head or tail of it all thanks :) 4 hrs post meal 6.6, 2 hrs post meal 8.4, 10 hrs fasting 8.4, 2 hrs post meal 6.7 2hrs post meal 7.5 and 10hrs fasting 6.9 ... I know my fasting levels are a little high but im unsure of the post meal figures, thanks in advance for your help, Linz xx

Hi. The 2hrs post meal figures are slightly elevated so there's a hint of diabetes? I wouldn't take too much notice of fasting results as they can vary depending on overnight liver dumps of glucose. A glucose tolerance test and especially the HBa1C test are better tests for diabetes. So, if you are given a GTT that will help determine where you are on the diabetes scale.
