Having just come out of hospital and my bms reading like I had just picked a random number between 3 and 27 to write down.
Can I offer some advice to anyone who has to go into hospital. Continue to monitor your Bms on your machine -this is so so important. There is a tendency to let the nurses /HCAs do it on their machine instead as you are in hospital. This then means that when you get home you will have no record of what the bms were like when you were poorly. Even worse if you see a different diabetic team.
You might meet some resistance from ward staff so I let them test with their equipment but at the same time openly use the leftover blood to get a reading on my machine.
I now have relevant data to discuss with my diabetic doctors hen I see him.
