i asked the nurse about a blood glucose moniter and she said they are only for type 1 diabetis.
she said they won,t be tested again until i see her next year
how do i get a test to see if its coming down?

You need to buy your own meter and strips. Most of us type 2's have to do this as the NHS is loathe to prescribe them for us. Sad but true. A meter is the most important tool we have. Meters themselves aren't expensive, but the testing strips can be so you need to be careful before you buy. Although I don't have a SD Codefree meter and strips, I believe they are the least expensive and used widely by people on this forum.

Hi been t1 for over 22 years now, sorry and sad to here that yous don't get the meters and strips of the nhs, because can this not go on to type 1 if your control is not good, hence like you say your meter and strips are the best tool yous have;)
