- Hate having diabetes but hey ho what can you do about. Even winning the lottery would not get rid of it
Just been sent an email re blood glucose top tips. One of the forums is called 5%. I just want to say that yes we all should be aiming for this but for some people it is nigh on impossible to achieve this. I have just got mine down from 9.1 to 8.1 which to me personally is a great achievement. My problem is that I have been diabectic now for 39 years and have just been told that I need to go onto meformin as well as my 5 injections a day. Apparently I have become insulin resistant. Anyway I went on a DAFNE course last year and I was amazed how those people who have recently been diagnosed are treated far better than us old timers. Apparently my equipment was out of date. I was using something which I hated using and really shouldn't have been using. Anyway well done to those that can achieve 5% I personally won't ever achieve this but I will keep on trying to go downwards instead of up and to all of you keep on smiling. I am hoping to get to 50 years now.
