Blood monitor problem.

I've just gone to check my blood sugar after tea and my machine doesn't recognise the strips. It remains blank. I've changed the batteries and it remains the same. Ive also tried a different set of strips. Anyone else experience this?

What can I do? I'm newly diagnosed type 1 and panicking without it xxx

Are you in UK? Whereabouts?

Call Out of Hours GP. Also A & E may be able to give you a meter.

If the screen on the monitor is blank, it usually means that the batteries are not making the correct contact. Is this meter an Accu chek?

It's an optium one. I've changed the battery, it gives me a lost of my previous results but won't recognise the strips. I promise I've put them in the right way!

I'm baffled.

If it was me, I'd take a snack to keep a bit high and sort it out tomorrow
