I had my blood test for my cardiac MRI tomorrow and while I was there she took my HBA1C.

I've just got a printout of the results as me being as nosey as I am, I'm curious what my HBA1C is!

Does anyone know what it what be listed under as it's not under the obvious. HBA1C x

Hi. The HBa1c test looks at your haemoglobin and from that can detect the average blood sugar you have had over the last 3 months. It is weighted towards the last month or so due to the normal death of red blood cells. The normal value is around 5.5 to 6.5% using old money (the measure previous to last year). Above this value hints at diabetes. The readings you have seen may be in new money so go to this link to convert from one to the other:

Hi

You might find it described as: glycated haemoglobin or glycosylated haemoglobin.

Hope this helps
