Hi, I was diagnosed with a secondary kidney cancer on my spine in January and in March they started giving me calcium tablets and zonadronic acid. In may I had intensive radio therapy as I can't have chemotherapy due to heart problems I've been dealing with for years. Despite keeping to my normal diet that has kept me at around 5,my blood sugars are slowly creeping up to 8.3 this morning. My question is could these treatments be affecting my blood sugar?

I don't know if anyone here could say it's your meds for sure... only your doc could advise you about that. If anyone has had the same treatment as you they could tell you their experience. But what would raise sugar levels is stress. Any stress I get raises my sugar levels, and that of course includes stress of illnesses and the pain and symptoms they cause. Your body would be busy fighting right now and you'd be going through a lot there. I wish you the best for your treatment and recovery. :)
