Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

For my breakfast I find I am ok with a single slice of wholemeal bread toasted with a thickish layer of cheddar chease toasted on top ... You can go better than this with an omelette or ful fat yogurt and berrys ..best to test test and test in your early days ... Bs is diffrent for all of us.
Stay focused .. Don't loose the weight and lower the bs to fast .. Steady and focused .. You will make the odd mistake .. Don't let it change your confidence in your ability to change your life.

Good afternoon Scottie,
" Going down!" Well done.
You were very strong in not sending you son to the shop. WELL DONE!
Planning ahead with your mum, what a good idea.

I buy Mini Babybel. ( Carbohydrates trace ) They are individually wrapped, bright red.
I use them as little treats for myself, I hide them in the back of the fridge, so husband can't see them. Lol How silly is that.

I dont think your Dr will give you test strips .. We are mostley self funding for meters and strips .. I have the Codefree meter .. Strips are the cheapest and the meters not expensive either ! They can be purchased from Amazion or direct from homehealth at www.homehealth-uk.com ..there is a promo code for the strips 5 packs - 264086 .. Or 10 packs - 975833 the promo codes only work if ordering direct from Homehealth
There are other places to purchase diffrent brands of meters inc the shop at the diabetes.co.uk

Cheese on toast, yummy. I like cooked cheese but not cold so this sounds ideal.

My mum has also bought me some thinly sliced granary bread too, so that's breakfast tomorrow sorted, thank you. Can I add that sauce (don't know what it's called) but seen it advertised on TV?

Hello Milly

Yes, I am quite proud of the fact that I didn't send him.

I don't like cold cheese, but thank you for the idea. I shall have to find something small to snack on. I think a lot of its boredom; I shall have to get active. xx

Good day scottie, remember ! Step by step , a good breakfast ...eggs any way you like ,bacon , sausages ,mushrooms , slice of fried bread! ( fat makes it slow absorb) ! Full fat greek yogurt with berries , i get the german rye bread from lidl its about 8 carbs per slice and doesn't spike me ! Hows hubby? Do you like lambs liver and fried onions? Thats another good one,( fried in olive oil or butter or coconut oil,) have a read on here lots of great food ideas . Keep us posted .:)

Lambs liver, been a while since I had it, I use to do it in a sauce made of neat high juice orange squash and Worcester sauce, going to have to do some research and see if I can do it again and make it so it doesn't spike me too much, Time to check labels and experiment.

Hi ruth b, i do ours egged and coated with almond flour gently fried in olive oil, absolutely scrummy with cauliflower " rice" .

I should remind Scottie that I am a vegetrain.. So cannot advise on eating meat .. Yes a good old fashioned fryed breakfast is a good way to start the day ...
Need more clues to the sauce ! But most pre cooked ready sauces have a high carb count .. Best look at the label before you make the purchase ..

No, it's something quite brown and you just sprinkle it on the cheese; its not a cooking sauce. Arrhh, what's it called. Seen it on an advert on TV. Never mind, I think I'll just stick with the cheese

Veggie, me too. Liver, big yuck.

Looking at the length of the thread we are all quite happy to answer your posts so I doubt anyone minds you posting so much.

Just found out that Asda do a no added sugar high juice orange squash at about 3g of carbs per 50ml neat squash, worked out from a normal serving and how many servings from 1 bottle (normal is about 25g of carbs for the same amount) so I know what I will be buying at the weekend, time to experiment again

Clivethedrive. Yogurt has carbs in, so is it really ok to have. Even the Greek one does

" Not by the litre " What have people been saying about me. Lol
But you are right I have very little willpower, hoping some of Scottie will rub off on me.
Im just going by my own impulses.....unless i measure it out in a bowl it's a dead cert i'll eat the lot " burp hic
