Does anyone else find this?

I do my long acting levemir in the morning and evening at about 8/9. but in the morning, despite this I always seem to find my blood sugar levels are above ten, especially when I am at work...

I don't know why this is, sometimes it is even when I have had normal blood sugar levels when i've woken up and haven't had any breakfast, but still it is high later on. and vice versa... I don't know what to do, any suggestions/similar experiences?

Also, it doesn't happen on my days off, maybe it's because I wake up at like 6:40 for work?

Used to find on mdi, with or without breakfast would be 9~12 mid morning. But, if I corrected would be hypo after. Think its because as the day starts you are more insulin resistant and or have the morning liver dump, so naturally come down later on. Pumping fixed this issue as I could give extra basal early hours, gradually reducing mid morning

Ahh right.. I'm starting to think a pump might be a good option for me

What ratio are you on at breakfast? I used to be on a 2:1 ratio but after a few months I went down to a 1:1 ratio. Could be worth trying to up your insulin to carb ratio, see if that helps?

Yeah that is a good point! I will definitely try it :)

I quite often see a rise after eating. I've had to up my morning ratios and it's currently the time of day when I have the biggest ratio. You might want to try that out?

I wake up at between 2.7 n 3.7 most mornings n I'll stay around 5 most of the day only starting to go up around 9 pm that by midnight I'm spiking around 8 or 9 n time I take my lantus at 1 or 2 I'm spiking at 11 or 12 .. if I take my lantus at 10 pm I go hypo around 3am n I get up at 5 am to get ready for work.
