Blimey Dibs, you nearly gave me a heart attack when I saw the thread title and your name.

Just goes to show we should all be vigilant. What was the real reading?

What a shock, pleased you worked out what caused your high bg reading :)

Like Bluetit said, 'not much difference' just take the 2 off the front and they were almost the same.;)

I've had one or two false reading and it does give a heart in mouth moment.

Hi Dibbles1,

You did make me laugh. I have definitely been there before... screaming at the screen of my meter "you can not be serious"!! Now I try to be a good girl and always wash my hands before testing.. but I am sure I'll do it again one day and give myself a similar fright.

Thanks for sharing.

eeeek , i do forget t times to wash mine but luckily have never had that reading lol

I caused a bit of chaos just over a year ago, I went into hospital for a day procedure, because I am diabetic and had been fasting for 36 hours they tested my BG the meter said "Hi" and was over 35, they started to get a bit panicky at this and cleaned my hands with proper wipes and got the same again, I had the procedure but was then admitted for the diabetes and tested every half hour for 24 hours, put on an insulin pump, it took 12 hours to get my BG under 25, I now test frequently and had my meds increased , I learned to eat to my meter and it took 6 months to get it under proper control.
