Blood sugar readings before bed

Im just after some info, Im not diagnosed as having diabetes and from what I gather a lot of its is due to high blood sugar levels regarding insulin etc.

Now lately Ive been having a dry mouth constantly, stomach cramps on and off during the day, strong urine (smell and colour) although Im drinking plenty during the day.

Now Ive measure my blood sugar over the space of a day. I think it is all pretty much normal eg 4.4 to 4.3 before and 2 hours after meals. The one thing I wasn't sure about was the reading at bedtime. From what Ive seen online it has said the level before bed should be between 7 and 10. When I measured mine it was 4.1, the lowest it had been all day. I just wondered what would cause this to happen, I dont skip meals and eat on a regular basis.

Would low sugar levels cause problems as above? and is 4.1 normal before going to bed?

I cannot answer what you should expect before bed for a 'normal' as against a diabetic, but if you are in any way worried you should really go and get yourself thoroughly checked out.
Now as a T2 I would aim to get test reading between 6 and 6.5 before bed, but we are all individuals and what suits me might not suit another.

Non diabetics have pretty consistent blood glucose and the range you give is just that, however, you obviously think something is wrong, so go get checked out. I may well not be diabetes, but you'll fell better if you know nothing's wrong

Those are normal I think, I asked the diabetes nurse once what normal readings would be for blood sugar in someone without diabetes, and she said a bit over 4 or so. So in answer to you question, what would cause this to happen? Not having diabetes is what. The recommended blood sugar ranges for diabetics are so much higher than normal are to prevent people dying of hypoglycaemia, I think the mechanisms for raising blood sugar don't work properly or something.

How many litres are you drinking a day, don't think urine should smell much if you drink enough, mention your symptoms to your GP that's what they are there for.
