Blood sugar results

Hi all,

Prior to having diabetes, I periodically tested my blood, my dad being diabetic. My results always ranged between 7 - 11. This was the same for years, even though my hbA1c was about 6.4
Now that I am diabetic my blood sugar for the last few days has been 5.4
I still have bad days with food but today I have had one price of cheese with baked crisps, yogurt and grapes. Dinner chicken and noodles and two dark chocolate peanut butter truffles. Blood 5.4
I am only taking 1000mg sr Metformin and should be on 2000mg. I think I will put off taking the higher dose until I see my doctor.

So I have been on Metformin for two years now... Definitely go to your doctor for dose recommendations. Are you journaling all of this? Writing down the foods you eat and the effect on your glucose levels? More long term information is good especially as you educate yourself more on this disease.
