Blood sugar testing on wife

Just a quick post as I thought this was quite interesting,
Me and my slim in no way diabetic wife just had a Sunday roast consisting of chicken, parsnips , carrots , Yorkshire pudding and sprouts
Both portions same size roughly
Only difference is afterwards she had a weetabix
90 mins after eating my reading 6.1
Hers 6.4
She’s tested maybe half a dozen times out of curiosity and always seen readings of mid 4s or early 5s even after eating sweet things.
Anyway the point is weetabix is obviously the devil!

Hi,

So is chocolate covered raisins..

I once did a similar food experiment with my wife. Though I do use insulin.

& she'd sneakily demolished a bag of the aforementioned.. ;)

I found Weetabix to spike my sugars as well like mad. Been eating it for 20 years until I got the libre.

Yeah, weetabix is horrendously spiky in my experience. Which seems ridiculously unfair, I don’t mind having a spike after something really enjoyable like cake, but in no way is weetabix an indulgence food!

Few foods are more insulinogenic than wheat. It's actually pretty offensive stuff for a number of other reasons, but that's another topic for another day.

I had weetabix all last week for breakfast. Flat lined after as well, well maybe a 1mmol rise but nothing really.....considering I put a bit of honey on it as well. Guess we are all so very different
