Blood Sugar Vs Symptoms

Is there a guide on this. I know that many people will probably have differing triggers and symptoms on the blood sugar levels.

I have seen many on here talking about pretty high levels i.e. 14+ but don't mention how they are feeling.

I find that if I even get above 10 then I start getting all the symptoms e.g. fatigue, blurred vision, thirst etc

Would it be worth running a poll ?

Its been discussed many times before on the forum, high bg can make you feel lethargic and it also makes the lens of the eye swell which leads to the blurred vision.

Once you are into the teens of blood sugar, then you may well have blurred vision, thirst, need to pass urine etc. I have never suffered any fatigue thru high blood sugar but many do.

I've had b.g in the 20's since diagnosis (diagnosed a couple of weeks ago) and I didn't and still don't have any symptoms apart from being more tired than usual. The doctors and diabetes team are all gobsmacked that I feel fine so needless to say diagnosis hit me like a steam train :dead:

Following what others might say for their own effect of High/Low B/G levels and looking for the same symptoms occuring can be somewhat dangerous.
We all respond differently to various High/Low levels, some individuals can feel the changs occuring whilst otheres may not notice any differences.
I know of someone who's B/G fell down to 2.2 mmol/L and he himself was not aware of any change occuring, it was other's who noticed the suttle changes as he slowly changed into someone with an agressive violent nature. It was only after being given a 'sugary drink' that he changed back into the indivual that we formally knew.
Personally I know when my own B/G is approaching 10 mmol/L as my vision becomes blurred and I have difficulty in focusing through what seems a slight mist, but I dare say many others will have somewhat differering symptoms of their own.

Prior to diagnosis I suffered from extreme fatigue on a number of occasions immediately after lunch. My diagnosis was as a result of blurred long distance vision following which my GP referred me for fasting blood tests.

It was fatigue and blurry vision that pushed me to go the see the doctor in the first place. I had had to stop driving following a few near misses, couldn't judge distances! I'm still not back to driving yet as I've lost confidence. Hopefully once I am sorted out with regards to my BG I will be OK.

I was nearly in a coma before I went to the docs, had sweet taste in mouth drank water to the extreme passed so much urine lost 2 stone in 2 week and my bloods were high 20 s going on for 30 s I've had 1 hypo since and a nice tea with a sugar solved that I know I was having one my hands were shaking and I was very faint glad I knew my body enough lol

I havent really noticed many symptoms these days if I'm high but I'm only ever high for short periods of time (a few hours) etc before I correct it with a dose. Im not really sure if temporary highs do any damage (does anyone know)?

When I was undiagnosed I was extremely thirsty and had blurry vision. My sugars were something like 28. I was very weak and tired and that was because I was basically being "starved".

Are you a type 2 then? Are you suffering from a lot of highs right now?
