i was diagnosed with diabetes 6 months ago no idea i had it bs were 52 spent a week in hospital on an insulin drip any one have an idea how long it would have taken to rise to that level doctor says i must have had it for years in the past 4 years i have been in hospital twice for unconected problems very high bp and gastro blood was taken do they routinely test for diabetes suppose not but high bs ? I am struggling to get it down with meds exercise doing all the right things diet wish i had found out about it earlier

Everyone is different: if your insulin is not working correctly, BG could be affected by many things like diet and exercise and diabetes intensifies at different rates for different people.
The important thing now is working on your BG for the future: you cannot do anything about the past so, if I was in your position, I would not spend time worrying about how long I had it.
