Just had a cortisone injection in my shoulder, wasn't too bad just a dull ache at the moment.

Tested my bs before lunch and it was7.5, usually I am in low 4's before a meal and in the high 5 to low 6's after eating. Does anyone have any experience of this how long will it take to settle back down? Not over worried but don't want it to go on too long as feel a bit lousy

Yes it goes up about 3 - 4 points. It will settle down within the next couple of days.

Don't go mad on carbs, as this will exacerbate the feeling of being a bit rough. Try and go as low carb as possible.

Thanks Nosher - don't have lots of carbs anyway as a rule about 80g a day mostly veggies, just had my usual lunch of stir fry veggies with chicken 2hrs after 6.9 so coping quite well though still a tad higher than usual.

The effect of the steroid injection can last about 10 days and blood sugar will probably go into double figures if you have no means of bringing them down. Hope your should settles done soon.

Well seems to be doing ok 4.8 before dinner :)

5.1 2 hrs after dinner

I'm a freak! Lol
