Blood sugars high

When this happens, there are a few things that are important for me
- check my level. Libre is less accurate when high so I would always check with a finger prick at this level
- check for ketones as you are at risk of DKA at prolonged high levels
- bring my levels down
- work out what caused the rise

Can you tell us how you are treating your diabetes? What type of insulin are you taking and are you on fixed doses.

Often, the candidate for the last point above (cause) can affect the third - there may be a problem with your insulin or your pens. So I would change both and take a correction bolus if you are confident to take corrections.
One thing to remember is that when our levels get high we may become insulin resistant so your levels may not go down as fast as you expect. So take lots of readings (with finger pricks if you stay high) and br prepared to correct ... but take care not to stack insulin and go too far the other way.

If you are not confident making the correction, speak to your diabetes team.
