Hi guys

For the last few days i have been doing everything correctly insulin wise, and my sugars seem to be running high all the time. Like today I haven’t eaten since about 1pm and my sugars will raise to about 15, then I inject insulin and they go down, then after a while they will rise again to 15/16. And for the last couple of nights I have just been testing and injection insulin but not even for food. I thought I might be sick but I feel fine and it’s been about a week now?

Sounds like a problem with your basal (long acting) insulin.
Have you tried changing your basal pen?

I agree I think it is your background insulin if you haven’t already I recommend increasing it by 20% as you are running quite high you will not see results straight away so leave it for a couple of days and keep checking your blood sugar as well as your key tones to make sure you are okay. ( I know I am only 15 but my dad makes me change my own things all the time so I can learn and I’ve been doing it for two years so you can trust me!!)

I take 17 units in the evening, to me that’s quite a lot already but I can try increasing it

try splitting it as well it may not be lasting the 24 hour on me my lantus was wearing off at 12hrs. soslowlyup the doses by just a few click at atime with a couple of days before the next increase. dont over do it.
