Thought it was about time I sorted myself out and joined. Been often enough to the website but never plucked up the courage to join and start posting, but I find needs must now. I was diagnosed in June 2006. I have had problems with some of the medication and had to change it a few times. I started on Victoza in March 2011 and have gradually lost weight, going from a size 24 to my now size 16. I was feeling so much better but over the last few months I've struggled to regulate my sugars.

I've reach 'the' age and I've started with the hot flushes. When I have a hot flush my sugars raise massively. Yesterday at work they were 14.9 and I felt dreadful. Went for a brisk walk and they reduced to 12.3 but then mid afternoon another flush sent them to 13.9. I have a wonderful diabetic nurse and often ring her for advise but I know how busy they are at our practice so thought a query on here may save her time. I am due to see a gynecologist mid August to make sure there are underlying problems. I've not had sugars so high since my diagnosis and I'm worried!

Anyone's thoughts or similar experiences would help me - thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum cava, this is what happened to me Victoza worked over night then my sugars started going erratic. You need to get in touch with your dsn as it may be time for insulin

Type 2 diagnosed 24/01/2013.
NovoRapid, Lantus, Victoza, Metformin (sr), Simvistatin

That's what's concerning me - I really don't want to start on insulin, but I know it will be inevitable one day.
