Blood sugars too high can you help

Hi Everyone my name is Jac, Iam 92 years young,and would be ok but for this type2 diabeties,I was handling my blood sugars well for the last 12mths ave readings. 6to7 then it was found that I had Fibrosis on the lung an I was put on10 mg a day of Prednisone,which has my blood sugars in the high 17 to 20 I now find it impossible to bring them down can anybody out thre help. Hi. Steroids are a big problem for us and there is no easy solution. Ensure that the steroid dose is the lowest the GP thinks does the job. Keep the carbs in your diet quite low and you may need some diabetic tablets to help. In the extreme the GP could put you onto insulin for a while but I suspect that would only be last a resort and tablets do the job anyway.
