I have been using One Touch Ultra easy for a number of years but unfortunately need to change meters because the old strips are no longer available in my area.
The One Touch replacement model (Select plus) is much more awkward to use for the following two reasons
1) the case is harder and bigger thus harder to carry around with you (especially being a man)!
2) The monitor & accessories are loose within the case so can fall out on opening.
Can anyone recommend an alternative meter that I can use that is both small and user friendly much like the ultra easy?

Hi there my son uses the one touch verio IQ machine it's very light and compact and everything has its place in clip on compartments and zips so nothing falls out!

I use Accu check Mobile which has no strips to handle. It has an attached pricker so everthing is on the device.
I don't use a carry case as it sell closed after each test.
I have trued/ have almost every tester on the market.

I have been using One Touch Verio since diagnosis back in April 2015, but I am now hearing/seeing that readings are a little higher than on other meters. Still, it can be good to be seeing things a tiny bit higher than they are (if it's even true). And, it's easy to use..small soft pack and internal sections for "weapons". Still, I am interested in Tom's above.

Good until you make an incorrect adjustment.
If I have a high or low reading I always retest.
Some meters do test higher than others. I have used the Verio IQ and the Verio and found them both okay. I hate handling strips but I did like the Verio a lot and still use it about a quarter of the time but only at home.
I'm testing a Freestyle Insulinx right now ant it tests lower than my Accu check Mobile. The screen is awful to read.

The first meter I bought was an Accu-check mobile but it took me so long to pluck up the courage to use it that when I did the cartridge was out of date still have it though just never used it.

Yes they have an expiry date.

IF AND ITS A BIG TRY A TRUE TEST it only has the strip round container and the test part is on the lid otherwise the mobile acc-chef is good i use it for going to football all self contained but you have to load the blood drop correct ..

I have liked the Verio since I first used it but also like the Contour Next USB. I find the cartridges on the Mobile (to avoid strips) are not always easy to touch accurately so more failures. Also, meter is heavy. but the detachable pen works well (but best not attached to meter, which becomes more bulky.. I find mixing and matching pen and meter works well - many pens are cheap affairs e.g. Are and Contour.

The newest Mobile isn't that bulky. It is certainly more bulky than a Verio or Verio IQ. However the Mobile fits into my pocket easily and no extra parts to fiddle with. Mobilebis denfinitly less cumbersome when you are out.
I developed a technique that minimizes failed tests. I place the bottom of the testvarea directly above the drop of blood and lower it strait down to hit the bottom of the white test area. Seems to work well.

I would suggest the Ccu check Compact plus for those who don't like handling strips. It has a cartridge with strips in it that protrude f8r testing. When you finish, you don't have to touch the strip you just push a release and it ejects. I like them a lot. I eject the strip into a container so never touch the strips.

Hi there.
I used my 1TV for the first time today and was very disappointed at the results, showing that my reading was 2.1 higher than my Nexus, which was tested yesterday when I went to see the nurse and the reading was identical as hers.
