blood test results

i got my latest blood results today.the receptionist said they were fine but i was wondering what they meant.

sodium 141 mmol/L (136-144)
potassium 5.1 mmol/L (3.6-5.1)
urea 4.6 mmol/L (2.9-7.1)
creatinine 77 umol/L (55-99)
bilirubin 12 umol/L (7-34)
alkaline phosphatase 84 IU/L (30-120)
gamma-glutamyl transferase 36 IU/L (7-50)
alt 32 IU/L (17-63)
cholesterol 4.6 mmol/L (4.0-6.7)
HbA1c 5.8 % (3.8-6.0)

i was wondering if there is anything to look out for .the only yhing i have to compare it to is my first hba1c was 14 and my second one was 11,also my last cholesterol was 5.0

i would appreciate any replies

Hi Dermot, everything looks within range although your sodium and potassium are at the top end of the range.Maybe something in your diet? Did you get a full Lipid panel done? (Cholesterol). Great Hba1c BTW ,wish mine was that low!
 
hi sue and thanks for replying.i didnt go in fasting and she only took two lots of blood.thats all the results on the sheet.

Cholesestrol should be fasting.Your correct one is probably lower than the result they got.

My gp has just upped my statins to 40mg and my last Cholesterol was 3.4!
I just don't take them

Excellent results!

My Diabetic Doc also prescribed Statins - which I don't take. I 'fessed up when saw another Doc (for something unrelated) and he said it was much better to try and lower the Cholesterol through diet. So far I've got my my Cholesterol from 6.3 to 4.8, just through diet! I'm trying the plant sterols next, to see if I can get it down further.

What is it with Diabetic Docs and Statins?
