Hello everyone,

Need a bit of advice. I take my blood tests from my fingertips in my non-dominant hand as most of us do. Fingertips are getting very sore and bruised - this is exacerbated by me playing the mandolin (which is about the hardest instrument EVER on the fingertips).

Any other sites on the body that I could take tests from, just to give my fingertips a rest?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

P.

Well personally I use both hands and both sides of finger but I don't play the mandolin.
There are other sites you can use like the forearm but they tend to be less accurate and the pricker often needs to be used with a special adapter, for alternative site testing it should be detailed in your meters manual.

Try testing higher up on the sides of your finger instead of the pad, more towards the first knuckle but not on it.

I only test on my fingers, and always use my dominant hand

thanks everyone for your advice, that will make the mando playing a lot easier, think of like playing a vegetable slicer!! Tried taking the sample from nearer to the first joint this morning. Perfect! Thank you.
