blood testing kit

Most pharmacists and bigger supermarkets sell them. Also have a look on Amazon website, which also has user reviews.

I use the sd codefree from Homenealth

http://homehealth-uk.com/product-category/blood-glucose/blood-glucose-monitor/

The strips are the cheapest that I can find as it's the ongoing costs that will mount up. You need to say you're diabetic then you don't pay VAT. There are discount codes if you buy in bulk
5 packs 264086
10 packs 975833

Although I was given a meter by the nurse. Now they think my control is good so I don't need to test very often. To buy those strips was costing me just over £15 for 50 whereas the codefree works out at just over £5 for 50 using the discount codes.

Definitely recommend the SD Codefree too.. I buy direct from the home health website as above. You want the one that reads mmol/l assuming you are in the UK as that is what is used here by your HCP's.
Their delivery is often next day if you order in the morning and their strips are the most reasonably priced.

I bought the My Life Pura X the other week from local chemist was doing the whole kit for a fiver works fine though replacement strips are expensive compared to the code free, will keep it as a stand by..
