Blood testing meter won't work in the cold

Hi, my blood testing meter won't work when it is too cold. I work outside and usually have my meter in my bag but have to heat it up in the car before it will work. Does anyone have any ideas how to insulate it to keep it warm? Already tried one of these microwave wheat bag things and it didn't keep warm for long enough.

Just a thought - could the battery be running out? Last time I had that problem was in a colder climate and whilst warming the battery helped a little, eventually I had to replace the battery and it didn't need warming anymore.

Have had this problem myself not only in very cold weather but also when it's been very hot. What works when the weather is cold is to put the meter close to your body for a while to warm it up. In hot weather, best to keep meter away from the heat.

Agree with iHs can you not keep your meter in a pocket close to your skin that way your body temperature will keep your meter warm

No pockets? perhaps try tucking it into the waistband of your pants/trousers, all you need to keep warm is the meter itself and a tub of test strips you could leave the finger pricker, lancets, notepad, pen and wallet wherever it is you usually keep the whole kit now.

I stick my meter under my arm for 30-60 seconds which usually does the trick.
