As we all know consuming protein with no carbs can lead to gluconeogenesis and a higher BGL a couple of hours down the line.
On MDI how do you guys deal with this if you really don’t want the carbs?
They say that if carbs aren’t present in a high protein meal then you work out the protein divide it by 50% and apply your usual bolus ratio to it.
The question I am asking in when do you apply this dose, just before you eat or about 2 hours after which is when your most likely to get gluconeogenesis
Thanks
